DJ accounts can live stream to the AutoDJ service using their own private credentials and can be additionally by configured to allow broadcasts only during certain hours and with priority over other DJ accounts.
Each DJ account connects to the service on the AutoDJ port (usually 6xxx) using the Icecast 2 Protocol and on their own Mount Point (i.e., /mattl as in the example).
Adding DJ accounts
- Name – Defines the label that is displayed on the Service Overview, Scheduling Calendar and Widgets.
- Username – Defines the login name and also the mount point that is used for connection
- Password – Defines the private password used for the DJ to broadcast to the service
- Priority – DJs with a higher priority will take precedence and interrupt any stream by a DJ on a lower priority.
- Scheduled Access Only – Whether the DJ is allowed to connect at any time, or only times scheduled with the Schedule Calendar.
- Status – Enables or Disables DJ login using this account
Scheduling
The Scheduling Calendar can be used to define periods when a DJ account is allowed to login and broadcast. Using the Calendar is a great way to identify when DJs will be broadcasting, even if Scheduled Access is not enabled.
Priorities
DJs with a higher priority will take precedence and interrupt any stream by a DJ on a lower priority. The interrupt will only occur should the DJ with higher priority connect using the Mountpoint defined in the “How to connect” dialog (as displayed below).
